I Have An Idea...

...for Earth Day, which is tomrrow. How 'bout making it warm up and take all the snow away, so I can actually see some earth.

Compare and Contrast...

...these quotations from the journal kept by Samuel Hearne, early Canadian explorer and Hudson's Bay Company man. This journal was created in the late 1700s and contains references to a retreating treeline in what is now Northern Canada.

Fast forward to today, when we are treated this this bit of climate change hysteria:

It's deja vu all over again. Except Saskatchewan's treeline is waaaaaaaay south of Ellesmere Island, where trees apparently once grew.

Things change, folks. Tree lines advance and retreat. Nothing is certain in this world but death, taxes and change. Oh. And a large number of "scientists" who don't know a thing about change, a distressing number of whom work for NASA.

Meanwhile, out here in yahooville, it's bloody hot!! And it's gonna get worse.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

I just heard on my favourite radio station that Saskatchewanites used 10% more energy yesterday than they used the previous year's Earth Day! Way to go Saskies!!

Even though this radio station is mostly talk radio of the right wing variety, they were interviewing some idiot from SaskEnergy, who tried to convince us that people had more electrically powered conveniences in their possession than they did last year and that's the reason. What a farce!

There's only two possible explanations for the 10% increase, and it's probably a combination of both, and those are 1) our population grew {which it did, thanks largely to the energy sector} and 2) we're on to you. Hah,hah!

Last year I did my duty and during Earth Hour I turned on every possible electric appliance that I could for the whole hour. Even did some baking, using my electric mixer, of course. This year, I just shrugged my shoulders and ignored the event. I suspect most Saskatchewanites did the same. Borrrrrrrring.

And as if SaskEnergy isn't laughing all the way to the bank.

PS: This ain't no April Fools joke. It's also been extremely warm for this time of year. I wonder if the air conditioners were on?

Oh well. It did happen on Earth Day just to show that Gaia is pretty powerful, and no icecaps were harmed.

Another Year Has Passed And Once Again...

...it's time to remember the ways of Gaia. Earth Day is here.

So...everybody should attempt to take a shit in the woods and wipe their ass with last year's grass. Check back in a couple of months and see how much new green grass has grown up around it.

Dogs can do it on the neighbour's lawn and wipe their asses on your living room carpet.

That's what I think of Earth Day, thank you very much.
