That's what I've been saying all along. We normally don't ban people we want to arrest. We let them cross and then slap the cuffs on. We were just polite enough to give him a head's up. That's all.

Winning candidate, Labour Party's Jim Fitzpatrick said: "I could claim that as my first achievement as your new Labour MP for Poplar and Limehouse - reduce noise pollution."

Galloway got less than 18% of the vote.

Mr. Fitzpatrick appears to have a good set of cajones, too.

"And Mr Fitzpatrick’s opponents say he is about to pay for two offences caused to many of those Muslim voters: support for the war in Iraq and a highly publicised gesture in walking out of a Muslim wedding because the men and women present were segregated."

Hmmm. Interesting, isn't it. Here is a candidate that openly defies Islamist sex segregation winning over one who openly supports an Islamist political party in the Middle East IN A CONSTITUENCY THAT IS LARGELY MUSLIM!

Mr Galloway, who had switched to the neighbouring seat of Poplar & Limehouse, was heavily defeated by Jim Fitzpatrick, the Agriculture Minister, and took the rare decision of boycotting the count, where his 23-year career as a maverick MP was declared over. His Respect movement of hard-left activists and disaffected Muslims looked finished as its leader, Salma Yaqoob, failed to win Birmingham Hall Green.

Mr Galloway pledged he would bequeath his seat to a member of the local community after serving one term. He did — but it was Ms Ali, 35, who gained revenge with a majority of more than 11,000 over the Liberal Democrats.

“We say goodbye to George Galloway,” Ms Ali said. At the mention of Mr Galloway, almost 200 Muslim activists shouted “scum” and “out, out, out”. Ms Ali continued: “We decided it was time to pay our final respects to Respect. Together we voted to end the division and unite the East End.” 

Oh. And that lecherous woman, Jacqui Smith, was defeated, too.

All I can say is, it looks like Great Britain has rediscovered it's "greatness", just in the nick of time.
