Pakistan's military operations, on the other hand, have killed over 400 and made over 900,000 Pashtun Pakistanis homeless and destitute in their own country.

While the 17,000 Palestinians are finding shelter in United Nations Relief and Works Agency structures, nearly one million Pakistanis are facing a catastrophe that has triggered neither media coverage, nor international aid or protest.

On Monday, a day after an Israeli missile killed 18 family members of the Hamas police chief in Gaza, Iraqi men in Baghdad slaughtered 28 Iraqi women.

There was plenty of fury over the dead family, almost none for the women, for they were alleged to be residents of a brothel, as if that mattered.

Allah's "best of peoples, evolved for mankind", clearly live by a double standard, the one that triggers mammoth support for Palestinians but absolutely none for Pashtuns.

Here's why. It is not the race or religion of the victim that counts, but the identity of their tormentor.

As long as it's an Arab army annihilating fellow Arabs or a Muslim military murdering fellow Muslims, too many Muslims simply shrug away our responsibility and say, "leave it to Allah" as the Qur'an supposedly commands.

However, if the Muslim falls victim to the "kuffar" — meaning the Jew, Christian or Hindu — then many of our clerics take to the pulpit and deliver fiery, end-of-times lectures, using the tragedy as a reason to ignite hatred against the other, in most cases "The Jew"."

Horrible Thought

It just occurred to me as I was listening again to the speech given by Tarek Fatah, that he is this generation's Martin Luther King Jr.  The content of his speech and the spirit of its delivery is very similar. Look at the quote from MLK up in my masthead.

What if some kook takes it upon himself to assassinate Fatah?  I hope he is well protected, but somehow, given our complacency and our subservience to political correctness, I doubt whether he is.

And Now, for the Infamous Cancelled Speech Story

This, allegedly, is the full text of cancelled Imam Zijad Delic's speech that was to be delivered to Canada's defense headquarters in Ottawa. It reads like a historical and sociological analysis of Muslims in Canadian society, all very upbeat and everything, extolling policy makers to assist the multitude of Muslim immigrants coming from a range of cultures and parts of the globe to fully integrate into society, making the case, or at least attempting to make it, that there is plenty in Islam to build Canadian citizenship upon and the faith is not incompatible with Canadian laws and values. A warning, though. The blog on which this was posted seems to be the typical Muslim whiner, with a goodly whiff of anti-Semitism thrown in for good measure. (Isn't it always?)

In this National Post article Tarek Fatah, whose bonafides are rock solid, in my opinion, is quoted as saying:

"Mr. Delic is the “same old wine in a new bottle,” and his hiring was a “whitewash” after the awkwardness brought on by the “buffoon” Mr. Elmasry, “who could not say 10 words without putting his foot in his mouth.”

“There are organizations in Canada that condone armed jihad, and until they renounce it, they should not be entertained by any government agency,” he said, and claimed that the “circles of outreach” created by Foreign Affairs, Department of National Defence, and the RCMP have been “thoroughly infiltrated by Islamists.”

He said the agenda of Islamic History Month is in line with the goals of the radical Muslim Brotherhood, “to give a very glossy picture of Islamism.”"

Blogger Blazing Cat Fur (in my blogroll) is the "go-to for details" man. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of this, which reminds me, I was going to write to the feds inquiring as to why someone using a Department of Defense computer in Ottawa seems to be reading my blog. Seems rather a waste of time for someone working on my dime, unless I really am under surveillance, in which case, Tarek Fatah's assertion about Islamist infiltration is a bit worrisome. I shall have to write to MacKay and CC to Harper.
