Well, at least as the story goes.
Yup. How much of Egypt's economy is dependent upon tourists interested in seeing the pyramids and the sphinx and related ancient edifices. And it's not just the tourist industry, but archeologists from all over the world, pieces on loan to museums found all over the world, etc., etc. Morsi is completely nuts if he thinks he can employ Egyptians and keep them happy without the national income generated by that ancient heritage.
