Turkish Spring?

Turkey is currently governed by an Islamist regime. Is there hope yet?

I don't think the Arab Spring is over, by a long shot

I keep harping about the Prague Spring and how many years it took before communist Czechoslovakia fell.

Remember the old saying: "Be the change you want to see"? I don't think Muslim countries' citizens will tolerate Islamist governments any more than the Arab world tolerated Arab Nationalist regimes, which is what prompted the Arab Spring in the first place.

If Turkey is going to lead the way, that is kind of interesting. Turkey's history is one of alternating orientations toward Europe and toward the Muslim world. Under Erdogan, Turkey has turned away from Europe. Will they soon be swinging back the other way?
