Curious Sitemeter Sightings.

I love it when someone from the other side of the world lands on my blog. Yesterday, at around 6:00 PM, someone from the Philippines spent about six minutes on my blog.

I have no idea how he or she landed there (search terms don't always show up), but this is the page on which the Filipino landed. I just think it's interesting when people from half a world away find and spend some time viewing my obscure little blog. And tres cool, too.

The really surprising one came from the UK. Someone had typed the words "katepwa yesterday and today" and landed on this page: Little Snippits from a Local History Book, wherein I speak about my family's history on the farm at the east end of Katepwa Lake, as detailed in a local history book called Katepwa, Yesterday and Today. I gotta wonder, was this person some long-lost distant cousin of mine or perhaps a relative of one of the many families whose history is in that book? Sure would like to know.

To make matters even curiouser, someone from California landed on the same entry just a few minutes later. Was the Brit communicating with the Yank. I think I know who the Yank was, and he does have ancestral connections to Canada.

Some other observations:
  • Some people actually search for my blog using "Stubble Jumping Redneck" as search terms!!!
  • I get a lot of hits via Snoopy the Goon. Thanks, Snoopy. Wish there was some why I could reciprocate, but you seem to be doing okay without my miserable, insufficient traffic being routed your way.
  • I have at least one fan in France. A visitor from France, not the usual one, was on this page: On Irshad Manji's Raisins or Virgins Meme
  • Someone from PEI also thinks Pat Martin has/is a big mouth.
  • T'is with pleasure that I welcomed a reader of the Mangy Mutt's blog to this entry.  (In case you're wondering, the link to my blog is attached to the word "bubble".  I'm a little bit disappointed that it wasn't "burp" or "growl" or "grunt".  But, if you want to see a lot of burping, growling and grunting, the Mangy Mutt's is the place to go.)
Anyway, I'm off to visit BCF. Seems a lot of my hits over the past several hours came via the fiery kitty cat's nest.
