Here's the details, in today's Jerusalem Post. Actually, 450 male and 27 female terrorists are going to be freed in exchange for the kidnapped Israeli soldier. The exchange will probably happen some day next week, taking place in the Sinai.
I confidently -and sadly- predict many future Israeli and perhaps non-Israeli victims of some of these freed terrorists. This exchange will encourage Hamas and Hezbollah to try to kidnap more Israelis in the future. Basic behavioral psychology, you get more of what you reward and less of what you punish.
WUPS! There WILL be a total of 1,000 terrorists freed. My previous comment quoted the number to be freed in the initial exchange; the others are to be freed over subsequent months.
So. Not quite a thousand, then. Must have been a Palestinian press release.
Personally, I had given Schalit up for dead. I might still be right. At the very least, I expect the usual pussy-footing around. Stalling tactics, lies, smoke screens, you know, the usual hudna/taqqya fare.
Oops. See. It doesn't matter. The narrative fits in any case.
"...others are to be freed over subsequent months."
Gotta give them time to kill, maim, plot, kidnap, etc. so the release of the remaining hostages can be used for propaganda purposes. "See what we can do? Every time we strike they release a few more."
Should be "hostages" (with scare quotes).
Something the MSM doesn't like to report on is the number of poor, victim "militants"* who were oh so cruelly held in durance vile in Gitmo...released and subsequently killed or re-captured while engaged in more Islamist terrorism in Af-stan.
*I despise the "progressive" universe's use of the adjective militant as a judgment and morality-free noun. It tends to lump these violent schweinhundts in the same category as Gandhi, Martin Luther King. There's a self-evident moral universe of difference between Islamofascist terrorists and Gandhi & King.
Yes, I know. The Abu Ghraib (sp?) thing was another.
Good lord! Humiliating a few Islamist/Arab Nationalists is as bad as or worse than the torture that went on in that prison under Saddam Hussein??? Hands, tongues and privates chopped off? Eyes gouged out? Subjected to electric shocks? Hung upside down, swung from meat hooks while being beaten with whips and rods? Simply taken out and murdered en mass to free up more space when Papa Saddam needed it for more of his political opponents? What planet do these people live on???
