I'm not fussy of their mayor. He giggles too much during the TV spots concerning the flood.
Well, not being a Calgarian, I really don't know. I've listened to several clips of his issuing statements to Calgarians and he doesn't seem to be giggling in any of them.
I'm just glad Calgary has a Muslim brown-skinned mayor. That fact flies in the face of the bigoted stereotypes about Alberta and especially of Calgary, that are out there.
I lived in Leduc years ago, and they had a Black Mayor who went on to defeat this sitting Conservative Party incumbent (a White guy) in a provincial election:
There have also been Albertans of sub-continental Asian ancestry elected to many positions. Funny thing is, they are all Conservatives!!
