Guess What...

...Pauline:

Marois tells Americans Quebec will be its own country
"Pauline Marois, in her first U.S. speech since becoming premier, said Quebec is open for business and that she hopes it will one day be operating as a sovereign country."
That business will most likely be conducted in English.

"...She made it through Thursday's speech, in English." Maybe that fact of language should give her a clue...Without the tyranny of the plurality of francophones over non-francophones in Quebec, and their dictatorial coercive powers over non-francophones, there would no longer be much of a francophone culture in Quebec.

Trying to get American businessmen to make major investments in Quebec. Hmmmph...it'd take more than a putative 10 year tax moratorium to get me to make a major financial investment in Quebec. That still doesn't address the arbitrary dictatorial Quebec francophone bureaucracy. When parents can't even freely choose which language they want their children educated in, that's a dictatorship.

Vous voulez me faites de business en Quebec? Non, merci beaucoup!

You know, I don't have a serious problem with Quebec wanting to separate, but the separatist have no clue about what's in store for them.

Doing business and having an economy? It's going to be English, whether they want it to be or not.

Transfer payments from the rest of Canada? Oops. Sorry. No can do.

Foreign investment? Well, like you say. Who in their right mind would touch that with a ten foot pole. Quebecers with something of value to offer will be leaving like the French businessmen and the Californians are.
