...out there who believes the death penalty would not be appropriate for this perp, Luka Magnotta (aka Vladimir Romanov, Eric Clinton Newman and, most recently, Beavis Butthead)? IMHO, this is exactly why it should be reinstated. I don't think it would be too hard to come up with a list of what sort of murders and what sort of evidence would signal "death penalty". I'd even be willing to tolerate Chucky-Pooh as our next sovereign in exchange for that.

Seeing as how all The Usual Suspects in N. America and Euroland even got their knickers in knots over the Iraqi Govt hanging Saddam, I'd say there's no monster monstrous enough to justify capital punishment in what passes for their minds.
If these "enlightened" folks had been around after WW2, I suppose they'd even have been opposed to hanging the Nazi and Japanese war criminals that we, the civilized nations, did hang.
