Drats!

Valentine's Day came and went and no one so much as sent me a card or bought me a box of chocolates. Then earlier this week it was Sadie Hawkins' Day. Never occurred to me that I could have taken advantage of it. And I would so much like to be a kept woman. Oh well.  Onward and upward. Or is that downward? I like to say I'm over the hill, rolling down the other side, picking up speed. All that dizziness is enough to make me forgetful.

For some reason, this reminds me of my daughter. One day, when she was about seven or eight years old, I was driving around town with her in the front seat. In the back seat, were a couple of friends. Suddenly daughter blurts out "God I'm hot!" and she wasn't referring to the temperature in the car, either. Anyway, Mom and back-seat friends couldn't contain our laughter.

Daughter is now eight days shy of being 33 years old and she's still hot. And she can still make me laugh.

Same here. Well, another gender, but you get my drift.

And there is an advantage to being over the hill, I have to tell you from my own experience. Rolling down is so easy...

Well, I'll have to cross you off my "woman keeping" list, I guess. On the other hand, at my age, it's the "kept" part that predominates. Who cares what the gender is? It's only because I'm too proud that I don't move in with my daughter. Besides that, I might have to look after the little ones, which would be a challenge. The younger one just learned how to walk, so look out.

Yup. Rolling down is easier than climbing up, except for the occasional rock one hits or the thud you get when you reach the bottom, or so I'm told. But it does provide a ready excuse for legions of shortcomings.

Being cool is much better than being hot. Being hot is a result of parental genetic donations. Being cool is a result of one's own developmental efforts.

E.g. Eleanor Roosevelt. Even her most devoted admirers would never have described her as hot. However, with her intellect, her personality and her passions and achievements for what most would call noble causes, all that definitely made her cool.

Care to reconsider that??!! By that definition, I think she is both cool and hot.
