""We are punished by our sins, not for them." Mark Twain
Going off on a tangent, but speaking of Sin, here's an amusing historical anecdote. The famously laconic President Calvin Coolidge was known as "Quiet Cal". Cal was an old-school New England Yankee from Vermont.
A story told by his bemused wife. One Sunday AM while he was president, his wife was too ill with a cold or something to accompany him to church. On his return to the White House, he went to see how his wife was doing. She asked him what the minister's sermon was about.
"Sin." was his one-word answer.
"Well, what did he say about it?" she asked?
"He's against it." he simply replied.
Seems Mark Twain is the source of most quotable quotes.
What about that poor bishop in the Catholic Church, Cardinal Sin? How could one pronounce his title/name without wincing or grinning?
I did not know there was a Cardinal Sin. That's rather hilarious, in a sinful sort of way.
What happened to your blog, BTW??!! It was one of my favs and you seem to have pulled the plug.
Thanks. I just ran out of energy for it. I am glad that you are still at it.
