This Has Got To Hurt...

...our arts and broadcasting elites in Toronto:

Calgary named Culture Capital of Canada for 2012
"Calgary-Centre MP Lee Richardson made the announcement Friday on behalf of Heritage Minister James Moore at the Grand Theatre in Calgary.

"Calgary is one of Canada's fastest growing and most vibrant cities, and we look forward to working with the city on its upcoming centennial anniversaries to continue to promote the arts, boost tourism, and grow our economy," said Richardson."
Them's fighting words back in Trawna.

When a relative of mine moved from Ontario to Calgary, I remember assuring her family that, yes, Calgary had a symphony, ballet, live theatre, art galleries, etc., etc. I also mentioned the Muslim mayor. For some folks, anything west of Thunder Bay might as well be Ellesmere Island.

If this Yank ever wins the lottery and can go on permanent vacation, one of my vacations will definitely be the Calgary Stampede! Now that sounds like a fun couple of weeks.

Ya, I could dig that. Just knowing the PETA types would be howling and screaming while I'm watching the calf roping would be a big high.

Trouble is, I am literally allergic to bull shit, so I might have a problem. I've been to indoor rodeos and got all stuffed up with puffy, sore, red eyes. Outdoor might be different, though.

Eeeehaw, it's good to be a redneck.

"Trouble is, I am literally allergic to bull shit," Well, that eliminates your attending any political party conventions. :-)
