Jeeze, Just When You Thought...

...the global warming hysteria had been properly sedated, we have another volcanic eruption in Iceland.

Remember all that settled science stuff from last year at this time (yup, it's been just a little over a year since the last eruption)?

No?  Well here's a reminder:

Volcano not likely to slow global warming
"A vast cloud from an intensifying volcanic eruption in Iceland is too small so far to slow global warming as happened in 1991 with the explosion of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines, experts say."
Iceland volcano unlikely to slow global warming
"Big volcanic eruptions have had a cooling effect on Earth's climate, but the Icelandic event is too small to provide any such respite from manmade global warming, scientists said on Friday.

The benchmark cooling event of the past 20 years was in 1991, when Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines."
Well, like the Rapture, it was foretold, so it's gonna happen:

There's bigger trouble ahead from Icelandic volcanoes as the world heats up, scientists warn

The message went out in December:

Scientists Challenged to Become Better Global Warming Propagandists

...and before long, we were treated to some first class scaremongering:

Global warming causes AIDS in 2011

Harold Camping - er - Al Gore got back in the game:

Al Gore Explains Snowmaggedon

...and Chucky-Poo, too.

But we're still not buying it. The critics are popping up from all over the spectrum:

Helmut Schmidt calls for IPPC inquiry
(Well, he ain't a royal, but he's well respected and has good name recognition, and none of the kook factor baggage that accompanies Chuckie-poo.)

Once Again, Mum Nature Has Her Way

UN Embarrassed by Forecast on Climate Refugees

Warmageddon Deferred, says Joe Public

Even the courts:

Climategate U loses bid to stifle critic

This is so tiresome.

It's not likely to slow "global warming" because there's no such thing as "global warming". It's a myth, a slick global con job based on fraudulent science.

Re the "Climategate U loses bid to stifle critic", wasn't the so-called review of the U of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit done internally by the U of East Anglia itself?

And, given the U of East Anglia's regular receiving of large annual grants from the British Govt, isn't this internal review an incredible conflict of interest?

If, as all the evidence that is out there is true, the CRU committed massively fraudulent reporting and if the U had reported that, the British Govt would have been politically forced to react, probably by cancellation of future grants.

In other words, that "review" that purportedly cleared the CRU Climategate scientists smells very badly of a CYA cover-up. Even some Parliamentarians have called for a new, truly independent investigation.

Indeed, it was. How dare we question it?!!

About that global warming bit, I'm unconvinced there's anything to it outside of normal climate fluctuation, but considering how cool this spring has been thus far, I am a bit disappointed.

I don't think we're going to get any sort of formal investigation, anywhere, never mind Britain, but one can always hope.

It seems if we just continue ignoring the hype it will eventually fade into the sunset, anyways. It's worked so far for Harper, despite a lot of bleating and bawling from the environut lobby - or maybe it's because of them.
