Agreed, very disturbing. However, not surprising given how religion in that area of the world shapes the view they each have of their fellow man. But we must remember that it was not that long ago that our ancestors shared the same basic view of all exploitable peoples. It has been less than 100 years for the so called modern view to become what we see today. And just look at our society now. Are we really progeressing, or have we reached the apex and are starting to slide down the path of religious zealotery and hate for non-believers in our chosen religions?
That's a mighty broad brush you paint with. I think, in many cases, the intent was honorable, but the practice, not so much.
Even the practice, today, is pretty darn good, sometimes. I'm afraid we've become intimidated by political correctness, though. Calling Islamic terrorism is construed as anti-Muslim and there's no shortage of Muslims who will moan and cry about it. They've even got their own people intimidated.
Ah, a moral equivalencer shows up.
There's the threadbare unsupported premise that we of Western Civilization are only a few years removed from being our own version of Islamofascists. Or in this case, Dubai quasi-slave traders.
Then there's the logically unsupported leap from that to the implication that Judeo-Christianity and the believers in those faiths are morally equivalent to the Islamofascists as hateful, intolerant zealots.
Yes. That's the new chosen religion, you hateful zealot, you!
I'm sure this documentary will lead Beckham and ?Posh Spice to relinquish their place in Dubai until things improve. Right?
