Now, if this Isaac Hayes is successful, then I really will believe that a new day has dawned. Imagine unseating the son of Jesse Jackson, the Martin Luther King Jr. sidekick who went on to prove that he apparently didn't get the "color of our skin" versus the "content of our character" memo, or a least not the full meaning of it.
