Indian Industry BS

Here's a classic example of the "narrative" as promoted by the Indian Industry. Note the Garden of Eden description of the pre-Columbian landscape:
"Pre-Colonization: Before contact with Europeans, Indigenous nations were fully independent, organized in societies, and occupying the land as their ancestors had done for centuries."
...one brief paragraph covering God knows how many thousands of years, which is followed by a detailed litany of European sins, many of which are exaggerated and outright falsified, starting in 1492 and bringing us up to 2007. In the 43 pages of text the words racist or racism and genocide appear 26 times. It's brought to us by Vancouver Status of Women which "recognizes the historical and current processes of colonization on Indigenous land and acknowledges that Canada remains under colonial occupation." Ya. Like that's gonna change.

The Indian Industry should check out the Osoyoos Indian Band. Chief Clarence Louie is a great example of what a little reality can do for people.

If you want to read about the band, and its leadership, you just gotta google 'Osoyoos Indian Band', pretty impressive : )

I agree. There are a few of them around, but regrettably, most are still trapped inside the box where it's very comfortable and there's lots of money to steal and perks to be had.
