The video is from 1988, YouTube says, well after the time people realized that the Global Cooling theory was wrong. But it's not surprising they dramatized it, I'm sure it makes for an entertaining movie. You're still buying into it 30 years later, in favour over the facts staring you in the face.

Oh my. Where to begin.

The global cooling scare began in the early 1970s. The video series shows exactly the same sort of hysteria and pseudo-solutions to a non-problem that we are getting today from the warmists.

Back then they were saying CO2 causes cooling. Since that didn't pan out, they've now turned the other way.

And the "facts" staring me in the face right now is that all the computer models have been shown to be completely false, based as they are, on only one of a multitude of factors that influence climate, and a very insignificant one, at that.

Not only that, but they have failed to predict what has actually been measured and observed. The theory doesn't fit the facts, and in science that means the theory must be rejected.

But, I don't suppose you have allowed yourself to read widely and listen to the dissenters, or should that be "deniers". What's staring us all in the face, is that the AGW scaremongering was done at the behest of the green technology industry and governments that have fallen for the hype. Fortunately, those governments are falling, such as what happened to the Liberals under Dion here in Canada and Kevin Rudd's Labor Party in Australia.

Research and innovation funding from those two sources (governments and the green industry) has vastly outstripped the funds obtained by the dissenting scientists from the oil industry or anywhere else, and the dissenter scientists' ranks are growing by the day.

However, I'm quite sure you are oblivious to all of this.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the global warming scare began around 1980 or so. The two overlapped for a while, but if you want to stick to your argument that a YouTube video dated 1988 (some 16 to 18 years after the cooling scare began) disproves anything you'll have to account for the failure of the AGW crowd to prove anything in the last twenty years or so that that scare has been manufactured.
